On October 13, Shen Changyu, director of the State Intellectual Property Office of China, held a video conference with Abdel Aziz swalam, chief executive officer of the Saudi Arabian Intellectual Property Office. The two sides reviewed their cooperation since last year and conducted in-depth exchanges on topics such as the latest work progress of the two bureaus, personnel training cooperation, and the global intellectual property challenge forum hosted by the Saudi Intellectual Property Office. At the meeting, China and Saudi Arabia signed the patent examination highway (PPH) cooperation agreement.

Shen Changyu introduced the latest work of the State Intellectual Property Office of China. He said that the cooperation between the two bureaus has a long history, and China is willing to work with Saudi Arabia to push forward the cooperation between the two bureaus. When talking about the PPH cooperation between the two bureaus, he said that the PPH pilot project carried out by the two bureaus is conducive to the faster examination of patent applications of the two countries' applicants, and provides more high-quality and efficient services for the two countries' applicants.

Abdel Aziz swalam appreciates China's progress in the field of intellectual property and its long-term support for Saudi Arabia. He hopes that through the signing of this agreement, cooperation between the two bureaus will be further strengthened and more positive results will be achieved.
